Astro bags Corporate Governance Excellence Award and �Best Investor Event� Award

Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (Astro) was awarded the Excellence Award for Corporate Governance Disclosure by the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group (MSWG) at the MSWG-ASEAN Corporate Governance Recognition Awards 2017 and �Best Investor Event� Award at the IR Magazine Awards & Conference South East Asia 2017.

Astro�s Group Financial Officer Shafiq Abdul Jabbar said, �Astro has been making consistent effort to improve our corporate governance disclosures. We are honoured that MSWG has recognised our commitment towards improving our corporate governance practices.�

The MSWG-ASEAN Corporate Governance Recognition Awards is held annually to encourage best corporate governance practices, quality and transparency among public listed companies in Malaysia. It also reflects a high commitment in improving corporate governance practices in the international scene.

The �Best Investor Event� Award is in recognition of Astro�s inaugural Analyst & Investor Day, held in July 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. Astro was also the second runner-up in two other categories: �Best Annual Report� and �Best ESG Communications�.

Astro�s Analyst & Investor Day 2017 was held particularly to communicate the Group�s value creation strategy in a landscape of increasing digitalisation, through presentations from Astro�s Group Chief Executive Officer, Dato� Rohana Rozhan, and its senior management. The event was well-received and resulted in coverage across local and foreign research houses, as well as in news media.
