Astro, Malaysia’s leading content and entertainment company, once again honoured its loyal customers with an unforgettable musical night, Up-Close and Personal with Srinivas, held on 21 September 2025 at Ruang Rama Event Space, Petaling Jaya.
More than 300 fans of the iconic Indian playback singer Srinivas, comprising customers who were rewarded through Astro Rewards, and media friends, experienced the magic of his soulful music in an exclusive live showcase. The crowd erupted with excitement as Srinivas kicked off the show with his beloved hit Apple Penne Neeyaro, setting the tone for a memorable musical journey. The audience was mesmerized as Srinivas performed his hit songs, including Minsara Penne, Muzhumathy, Chotta Chotta and more, each evoking nostalgia and admiration. He also paid heartfelt tribute to the legendary Indian playback singer, the late S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, by performing three of his cherished songs—Kamban Emaarthan, Mandram Vanthu and Thoda Thoda Unplugged—leaving the crowd deeply moved. Fans were also left in awe as Srinivas sang one of the captivating Malaysian Tamil songs, Kanna Kanna, alongside popular local talents, Kumaresh and Sri Vidya.
The show was further elevated by stellar performances from celebrated local artists—Arulini, Hemitra, Thivyah, Kumaresh and Sri Vidya alongside Indian playback singers’ solo segments who brought the stage to life with nostalgic hits by Srinivas, such as En Uyire, Nenjam Our Murai Nee Endrathu and Poovukulam Siragu, and many more. Hosted by RAAGA’s very own Ahila, the show offered fans a rare and meaningful opportunity to engage directly with the versatile singer through an interactive Q&A session—adding a personal touch that made the musical experience even more memorable and cherished.
