As the new year kicks off, Pongal is a four-day festivity that is celebrated by most of the Indian community, be it locally or globally. - A rib-tickling comedy telemovie, Kutty Vaathiyaar, directed by prominent local filmmaker, Govind Singh, starring Navomikah Avikna, Sai Kogila, Suhanthi Permal, Mayaa Amlu, Dato Geethanjali G, and more. Kutty Vaathiyaar premieres on 14 January at 9pm.
- Cooking show, Engga Ammayi Samayal featuring popular local artiste, Vicky Rao as a host presents variety of delectable traditional recipes for viewers to experiment this festive season. Directed by renowned local talent, MS Prem Nath, Engga Ammayi Samaiyal premieres on 14 January at 3pm.
- Captivating variety show, Saravedi Pongal, which showcases the festivity celebrated in an old folk home with exciting giveaways to the elderly citizens, premieres on 14 January at 2pm.
- Riveting thriller film, Agrinai depicts three killers who set out to escape from a secret experiment lab just to murder the innocent villagers. Whether or not these murderers are brought to justice forms the crux of the story. Agrinai stars local talents such as Aghonderan Sahadevan, Umagandhan, Viknes Perrabu, and more premieres on 13 January at 9.30pm.

- Romance film, Eamakku Thozil Romance directed by Balaji Kesavan and featuring Ashok Selvan, Avantika Mishra, and more, premieres on 15 January at 9.30pm.
- Thriller film, Nirangal Moondru starring Atharvaa, R. Sarathkumar, Rahman, and Ammu Abhirami and directed by Karthick Naren, premieres on 16 January at 9.30pm.
- Sci-fi horror film, Black directed by Balasubramani KG and featuring Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar, premieres on 17 January at 9pm.
Adding on to the excitement for Pongal this year is the finale of Aattam, Astro’s signature local Tamil reality dance competition will be held LIVE on 18 January 2025, 9pm at Indera Mulia Stadium, Ipoh, Perak. All Malaysians can prebook the tickets to catch the show live from now until 14 January via the Astro Ulagam website and collect the tickets on 17 January 2025 at Indera Mulia Stadium, Ipoh, Perak.
