All Malaysians invited to usher in the Year of the Rat with over 80 Astro talents
Astro invites all Malaysians to usher in the Year of Rat at a special Chinese New Year Countdown Gala, with performances from more than 80 Astro talents on 4 January 2020, 8.30pm at IJM Land, Bandar Rimbayu. The Astro Chinese New Year Countdown Gala will be hosted by Siow Hui Mei, Gan Jiang Han and Sam Mak and will see over 80 Astro talents including TV hosts, radio announcers, singers and actors joining in.
This Countdown Gala will feature a musical show about a place called “Hao Yun Gu” that has been running out of fortune with the main character attempting to bring fortune back by collecting 5 elements – innocence, affection, wisdom, courage and hope. As his journey unfolds, audience can enjoy an array of performances including face changing, dancing, Chinese orchestra and singing, diabolo tricks and martial arts presented by local professional groups and talents. Malaysians can also enjoy a fireworks display to end the night with a bang.
All Malaysians can also enjoy the CNY carnival on the same day, from 4pm, at IJM Land, Bandar Rimbayu where they can stand a chance to take home prizes, enjoy a wide variety of food trucks, game booths and more, before the countdown gala begins.
The Chinese New Year Countdown Gala press conference today was attended by 30 Astro talents including Gan Jiang Han, Jack Yap, Jack Lim, Mei Yan, Emely Poon, Anson Kow, Ricky Lim, Jazz Bailin, Marcus Yeoh, Joe Chang, Christal Yap, Julene Khor, Vivian Liu, Lovell Tan, Estee Tan, Alanis Yap, Nicole Lai, Danny Koo, Jacqualine Tiang, Weon Kuan, Catherine Kai Xin, Eric Lai, Eden See, Jenny Tiang, Apple Ang, Amy Chen, Ong Seng Boon and Xiao Tai Yang’s talents Bear and Candy.
