Astro Embodies “Our Power, Our Planet” With Multi-Platform Earth Day Related Content

In conjunction with Earth Day 2026, Astro reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by leveraging its platforms as a Voice for Good to advocate practical, everyday actions that collectively drive meaningful environmental impact within Malaysia, in line current global theme of “Our Power, Our Planet.”

In collaboration with Love Nature, Astro will be holding another stream-to-win campaign in conjunction with the premiere of The Kimberley: Australia’s Wild West. Viewers stand a chance to win exciting prizes such as a Hisense Smart TV, an HONOR Watch Fit, and other Love Nature-exclusive prizes. Additionally, Love Nature has pledged RM 1 for each stream of The Kimberley, up to a maximum of RM 15,000.

In Astro Group’s newsroom, AWANI continues to champion sustainability through its programming. Coverage of climate and sustainability-related news was complemented by a dialogue with WWF representative and climate activist Fiona Cheong on AWANI Pagi to discuss the impacts of individuals, communities, and industries in conserving our environment, aptly titled Dari Kesedaran, Ke Tindakan.

Astro Audio had also delivered a coordinated series of on-air, on-ground, and digital initiatives to spark more discussions and enable further action. LITE featured a specialist interview on microplastics, alongside a listener-led discussion on reducing plastic use, supported by an in-app contest promoting zero-waste practices. MELODY complemented this with educational social content, short-form videos on recycling tips, and an on-air interview with an eco-advocate to translate sustainability into actionable steps. MY FM brought audiences on-site with content filmed at a landfill, offering a closer look at waste management and encouraging better utilisation of daily items.

Furthermore, other stations also contributed to raising awareness about environmental sustainability. GEGAR partnered with Jabatan Alam Sekitar Malaysia to deliver key public service announcements focused on environmental responsibility and energy conservation, amplified through both on-air and digital content formats. Concurrently, ERA Sabah organised a “Trash to Treasure” challenge, transforming discarded items into functional creations while ERA Sarawak extended its impact through a multi-day planting initiative and outdoor activities aimed at reconnecting communities with nature and reminding their listeners that plants are valuable regardless of size, and ZAYAN encouraged audiences to adopt small, mindful habits,

Finally, via our video platform’s home page, Astro hosted an On-Demand rail, Earth Day: Our Earth, Our Home, which is a curation of environmental documentaries, short films, and shows that celebrate the beauty of our planet earth, as well as inspiring positive actions to spark our care for our planet. The rail is available from 22nd April onwards.
