Kuala Lumpur, 13 March 2025 – Astro, Malaysia’s leading content and entertainment provider, today announced that Max, the premier streaming service from Warner Bros. Discovery, is now available on Astro’s Ultra and Ulti connected boxes. This integration brings an expanded range of premium entertainment to Astro customers, further enhancing their viewing experience. At launch, all Astro Movies Pack, Astro One Epic Pack and Max app add-on customers, will have seamless access to extensive content directly through their Astro Ultra and Ulti boxes.
Max brings together blockbuster movies, groundbreaking series, iconic hits, real-life stories and family favourites from iconic brands like HBO, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, Discovery, AFN, Cartoon Network and HGTV, all in one place. With the Max app now available on Astro’s Ultra and Ulti connected boxes, customers can easily browse and stream their favourite shows and movies without switching devices, making it more convenient and enjoyable for Astro customers.
Astro Movies Pack, Astro One Epic Pack and Max app add-on customers now have the option to upgrade to the Max Ultimate plan for an additional RM18/month* for an enhanced streaming experience. All other Astro customers can add on HBO channels with the Max Standard plan or Max Ultimate plan at RM33.90/month* or RM51.90/month* respectively and stream content such as HBO Originals Dune: Prophecy and The Penguin, loved favourites including The Big Bang Theory and Friends, as well as the full Harry Potter movie collection, Deadliest Catch, Adventure Time and more. Subscribers can also enjoy new premieres on Max such as The White Lotus season three, Suits LA and The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim and look forward to new seasons of The Righteous Gemstones and The Last of Us.
To access the Max app on the Ultra/Ulti Box, customers may press “Home” on the Astro remote control and select the app under the “Apps” rail. Follow the steps on screen to pair their Max account with their Astro Box by scanning the QR code and logging in to their Max account. Once complete, customers will have access to a wide range of content right at their fingertips!
Astro One Packs can be customised with easy add-ons, including over 12 popular streaming apps, such as Max, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Viu, iQIYI, WeTV, Zee5, Simply South, and more. Customers can easily make changes to their subscriptions via the My Astro app, including updating their packs, switching between add-ons and streaming services or choosing new ones – anytime they like.
