All Astro customers can enjoy new thriller series, Kuruthi Mazhai, premiering on 1 December, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen HD (CH 231) via TV, Astro GO and On Demand.
This 22-episode gripping mystery series is directed by local director, Indiran Shanmugam and stars popular and talented local cast including C. Kumaresan, Dhilip Kumar and Aahmuu Thirunyaanam. Kuruthi Mazhai is the first local Tamil series featuring C. Kumaresan, popular local actor, director, writer from Malay police series ‘Gerak Khas’, and films such as ‘Undercover Rascals’ (2010), ‘Maindhan’ (2014), ‘Mayangaathey’ (2016), Malay thriller film ‘Dukun’ (2018) and ‘Ennaval’ (2019).
The story revolves around a policeman, Inspector Kathirvel (played by C. Kumaresan) who takes charge of a murder case that is in the public eye. He faces additional pressure of arresting the murderer as quickly as possible, especially because a murder takes place on the first day of him handling the case. The situation worsens when his wife is found murdered. He investigates the case with his colleague Sub-Inspector Ezhil (played by Dhilip Kumar) they find that the notorious serial killer only preys on rainy days. Whether the duo successfully arrest the serial killer is the crux of the story.
