All Astro customers can enjoy local Tamil family drama series Pallikoodam premiering on 18 November, 9.30pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201) via TV, Astro GO, On Demand and sooka. Directed by homegrown talent Tinesh Sarathi Krishnan, Pallikoodam is the first local Tamil series revolving around a Tamil school that features children in the lead roles.
The series aims to raise awareness about the mental health challenges faced by primary school students. It follows the story of Yamuna, a 10-year-old girl who struggles with language difficulties and bullying from her classmates. When her teacher selects her to participate in the Muthamizh Vizha, a competition that allows students to showcase their Tamil language potential, Yamuna faces a difficult decision including her parents have differing opinions about her participation. The series explores how Yamuna navigates these challenges and ultimately her journey of overcoming these barriers to succeed.
The series stars debut and talented local artistes including Pavithiran Sukundan, Navomikah Avikna Kavidaran, Vanessa Cruez, Shashi Tharan, Aruna Raj, Sangabalan, and Kuben Mahadevan.
