Kuala Lumpur, 12 February 2020 – Astro Malaysia Holdings Berhad (‘Astro’) announced that Euan Smith, an experienced media and entertainment executive who has held senior roles in Sky UK, Sky Germany, Fox and most recently in Foxtel, will be joining its leadership team as CEO TV and Group COO effective 1 April 2020.
This move is part of Astro’s business and people transformation plan in view of the ongoing changes in the media and entertainment industry. In the past year, Astro has put several strategies which have included differentiated services such as Broadband and OTTs, and enhanced customer experience via the new interface and the Ultra Box. The company has also strengthened its content offering by investing in signature local IPs, improving customer service and initiatives to curb piracy.

Trained at University of Birmingham (Mechanical Engineering) and Harvard Business School, Euan is an established media executive with a skill set spanning both Business and Technology. He brings a wealth of experience in media operations and business transformation.
