Astro’s Kita RunFest 2025 @ Serenia City Celebrates Unity, Community and Sustainability

KUALA LUMPUR: Astro is grateful to share the successful completion of Kita RunFest 2025, held on 6 December 2025 at Serenia City, Sepang. This year’s event brought Malaysians together in a warm celebration of community, while reinforcing the importance of caring for our environment.

We are humbled by the overwhelming response, with 2,455 runners participating in the 5km and 10km categories, an inspiring increase from 1,300 participants in our run last year. Additionally, a total of 6,800 joined in the festivities throughout the day, reflecting the community’s enthusiastic support and growing commitment towards environmental awareness and sustainable lifestyles. More than thirty small local businesses were also part of the festival, adding their craft, food, and services that enhanced the outdoor family-centric experience.

Kita RunFest 2025 was made possible through the strong partnership between Astro and Sime Darby Property, and the generous support of our sponsors KAON Group, Alphabet Capital, CIMB, TOP, Uphamol, Borneo Springs, Love Nature, and Salad Atelier. Their contributions helped us create a meaningful experience for all.

This event continues Astro’s steadfast commitment to the Rimba Kita initiative, which focuses on forest protection, conservation education, and community-driven sustainability efforts. Proceeds from the event will go towards Rimba Kita’s ongoing work with environmental partners, educational outreach, and on-ground conservation activities to safeguard Malaysia’s natural heritage.

Highlights of Kita Run Fest 2025

  • Oga Street Challenge (5KM route): Inspired by Oga, Astro’s environmental education IP, runners embraced a lively challenge focusing on local sports cheered on by the community.
  • Concert Performances: Local artistes Akim, Nadeera, Mimifly and Soo Winci lit up the evening with music that celebrated togetherness and joy.
  • Interactive & Educational Booths: Families explored booths, activities, games and even got to meet Didi & Friends, Oga and Reemo.
Euan Smith, Astro’s Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "It means a great deal to us to see families, runners, and partners standing side by side. This reflects exactly what we hope to inspire: Moments where people come together to uplift one another. Today’s turnout is a testament to the strength of community spirit, and we are honoured to play a part in creating experiences where Malaysian families can connect, move, and have fun with a positive purpose."

Astro extends its heartfelt appreciation to all sponsors, partners, volunteers, and members of the public who joined us in making Kita Run Fest 2025 a success.
