Popular local Tamil reality dance competition premieres on 7 December, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202)
Astro’s much anticipated signature local Tamil reality dance competition Aattam premieres on 7 December 2024, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) via TV, Astro GO, On Demand and sooka. Returning with an updated look and feel, Aattam reunites the remarkable host duo who have been the show’s faces, Denes Kumar and Vikadakavi Magen after 13 years apart.
Prem Anand, Vice President, Indian Customer Business, Astro, said, “We are excited to reboot our popular dance competition, Aattam, offering aspiring local dancers and choreographers an opportunity to showcase their talent. The intense competition between 22 contesting teams vying for the opportunity to be crowned the ultimate champion will keep our customers on the edge of their seats.”
MJ Nada, distinguished dancer, choreographer and actor who wears multiple hats over his 35 years in the local entertainment industry alongside Aruna, host, classical dancer, and co-founder of a local dance school who is also well known as Aattam 100 Vagai’s host will be embracing their roles as the judges. Rameshwara, Singaporean accomplished dancer, choreographer, actor, director with over three decades of experience in the performing arts as well as one of the winners of Aattam 100 Vagai Season 3 will be joining hand with them as the judge. Fans can also look forward to various popular dance icons who will make special appearance as the guest judges.
Aattam will feature 22 teams including V-Haara, Sharpasara, Rubinie Arts, Daaksha Arts, Trishool Dancer, NDA, DA Dancers, Kadaram Sirpangal, MRB Brothers, Riyana Arts, KJ Dancers, Sri Agni Dance Group, Githa Dance Academy, UMD, Ace of Beez, Millennium Arts, Tirav, Hyperflex DC, Maharani's, De'fresherz, Shivalayaz Arts and KLMD Boys.
The winners of the competition will take home impressive cash prizes as below:
• Champion: RM50,000;
• First runner up: RM25,000;
• 2 consolation prize winners: RM5,000 each; and
• Finalists: RM2,000 each
