Astro customers can enjoy local Telugu family drama telemovie Phone Kavaala in celebration of the Telugu New Year, Ugadi, premiering on 22 March, 7pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201) via TV, Astro GO and On Demand.

Directed by local filmmaker Vigna Ashwein Chakravarthy, this telemovie features renowned local talents including Vemanna Appannah, Punitah Shanmugam, Dishaaleny Jack, and Jay Svani. Fans can also enjoy theme song sung by Arvein Raja and Mackson via On Demand.

Phone Kavaala revolves around white-collar parents who forbid their children from using smartphones and social media. However, these parents decide to explore the world of social media after an argument with their daughter. While they initially intended to teach their daughter a lesson, they end up enjoying themselves and get carried away with the excitement of social media, forgetting their own parental responsibilities. Things take a turn for the worse when a video is accidentally uploaded on social media and goes viral. As the family goes through a difficult time dealing with harsh comments and criticism from netizens, they are forced to band together and find a solution.
