LIVE updates from temples in Batu Caves, Georgetown, Ipoh and Sungai Petani
Astro customers can look forward to the 24-hour live telecast of the Thaipusam coverage from 24 January, 9pm until 25 January, 9pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201) via TV, Astro GO and On Demand. This inaugural 24-hour live telecast Thaipusam coverage is the first continuous TV live telecast featuring an extensive array of 19 hosts who will be sharing live updates from distinguished local temples in Batu Caves, Georgetown, Ipoh and Sungai Petani. In addition, all Malaysians can also enjoy devotional songs on RAAGA.
Prem Anand, Vice President, Indian Customer Business, Astro, said, “The live coverage for Thaipusam has been always one of our prominent yearly highlights, and this year's 24-hour live telecast on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201) marks our 12th year (Mamangam) of Thaipusam’s live telecast, with a total of 19 hosts, makes it even more remarkable for our customers to experience the many sights and scenes from various temples for the first time on television in the comfort of their own home. In line with the #NandriKantha theme, Prof. Dr. Jayabalan Valliappan, Dr. N. Darmalingam Nadarajan, Varatharaju Loganathan and Silllalee S. Kandasamy will also be making special guest appearances during the live telecast to provide viewers with insightful information about this festival. Hosted by Sothirajen Paranjothi, Meenakumari Kadianpan, Sushmeetha Morugan, Khanna Simmathiri, Komathy Veluplay, Uthaya, Revathy Bawadass, Magen, Aruna Raj Devarajoo, Inthumathi Subarmaniam, Sures Thirugana Sambanthan, Mahendran Veluplay, Sri Kumaran Munusamy, Revathy Mariappan, Gunasilan Sivakumar, Kabil Ganesan, Sivaraj, Viki, and the ‘Ultimate Star Search 2023’ winner Vighna Muthusamy, the live coverage will be aired from the local temples including:
