Astro customers can enjoy the exclusive Malaysian premiere of an exciting and thrilling historical drama series, Queen, on 20 February on Astro Vinmeen HD (Ch 231), Astro GO and On Demand.

Queen depicts life, struggles and the resilience of a bold woman, whose character is loosely based on the life of late J. Jayalalithaa, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and popular actress. Jointly directed by award winning director, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan, this 11-episode riveting series stars versatile actress, Ramya Krishnan who plays the titular role along with a talented cast including Indrajith Sukumaran, Anjana Jayaprakash, Anikha Surendran and Vamsi Krishna. Queen is based on a novel by the same name by Anita Sivakumaran.

The series revolves around the life of Shakthi Sheshadri (Ramya Krishnan), a brilliant young girl with an unrelenting desire to learn but is forced to join the film industry as an actress at the age of 15. With her larger-than-life personality, Shakthi Sheshadri who becomes a top actress in a short period of time, then enters the political world and soon takes the reins as the youngest Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, creating her own legacy in the political realm.
