LITE Opens Search for a Gen X Announcer

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 OCTOBER 2026 – LITE is expanding its search for fresh on-air talent with the launch of a nationwide announcer search aimed at discovering personalities who can bring new perspectives and relatable conversations to the station.

Open to Malaysians aged 40 and above, the initiative – which is the first announcer search in the station’s history – provides an opportunity for individuals to explore radio broadcasting and demonstrate their ability to engage with listeners.

The search reflects LITE’s focus on creating content that resonates with its listeners through authentic voices, shared experiences and conversations that are relevant to their everyday lives.

LITE Brand Manager, Soraya Kee, said, “LITE’s target audience is Gen X, and our aim is always to create an experience that feels familiar and relatable to our listeners. As we look for our next announcer, we want to discover someone who can bring that same sense of connection through their own personality and experiences.”

“We believe there are many individuals out there who have the potential to be great on radio, but may not have had the chance before. In general, many similar talent competitions give opportunities to younger individuals who are starting out in their careers, but we are focusing on the Gen X audience – we believe it’s never too late for someone to step forward, try something new and show us what they can bring to LITE,” she added.

Interested participants can submit an audition video via LITE’s WhatsApp at 016-510 8888, with submissions open from 1 to 9 October 2026. They should include the hashtag #TheGenXFactor, as well as their name and IC number.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the next stage of the selection process at the LITE studio in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, from 10 to 23 October 2026.
