KUALA LUMPUR, 22 APRIL 2026 – Astro Audio’s English-language radio station, MIX, continues its commitment to raising public awareness and fostering meaningful community conversations with the launch of its latest initiative, MIX Safe Space. Inspired by real-life concerns shared by MIX listeners, the initiative opens an important dialogue on how young girls navigate trust, personal boundaries and relationships in today’s increasingly digital world.
The initiative is held in collaboration with Miss Teaspoon, a community-based organisation dedicated to empowering pre-teen and young girls aged 7 to 17 in Malaysia through social and emotional learning.
MIX Safe Space was designed to guide young girls on who to reach out to for help and how to build confidence while facing the challenges of today’s fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment. Through open discussions and guided activities, participants were encouraged to express themselves while developing greater self-awareness and resilience.
The session was moderated by MIX announcers Aishah Jennifer and Hani Fadzil, who shared personal experiences and insights while guiding participants through real-life scenarios. The programme featured 13 engaging modules, packed with interactive discussions and fun games aimed at reinforcing key lessons in a safe and supportive space.

Commenting on the initiative, Brand Manager of MIX, Rosalind Teng, said,
“MIX Safe Space reflects our responsibility to create conversations that matter, especially for young girls navigating a complex digital world. We hope this initiative also supports parents in starting more open and honest conversations at home, because growing up today is very different from before, especially with how much of life happens online.”
She added,
“This initiative was inspired by concerns raised by our listeners, where recurring conversations highlighted the need for guidance and safe spaces for young girls. Through our collaboration with Miss Teaspoon, we bring together expertise in social-emotional learning and our strength in community engagement. Together, we are creating a safe and meaningful space that equips young girls with practical tools to navigate real-life challenges.”
In addition to the workshop, participants were also given an exclusive tour of the MIX studios, offering them a glimpse into the world of radio and sparking interest in the broadcast industry.
Through initiatives such as MIX Safe Space, MIX remains committed to nurturing a safer and healthier social environment while empowering young girls with the confidence and knowledge to build a more protected future.
