Prudential Astro Masters (PAM) is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, making it the longest and most successful national amateur golf series in the country. The search of the best amateur golfer continues, with even more prizes to entice the expected 2,200 golfers who will be playing in 19 qualifying rounds across Malaysia.
PAM 2017 is open to all golfers who are customers of Astro, and their guests, with the qualifying rounds kicking off on 20 April at Tropicana Golf and Country Resort. The National Final is open to all affiliated Malaysian Golf Association clubs. To participate, Astro customers are entitled to a special registration fee of RM350 while non-Astro customers can register at a fee of RM450 at www.golfpeople.com.my.
As part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, the competition offers attractive hole-in-one prize which is a Mazda 6 Skyactiv-D, which retails for over RM216,000, two return Business Class tickets on Oman Air to Muscat, Oman with a Special edition of PAM Titoni watch worth RM20,000, Bridgestone Golf Bag with full iron set, as well as a 65-inch Panasonic LED full HD TV as Sure-To-Win Hole-In-One prize. Prizes worth over RM500,000 are up for grabs.

For the first time, winners from the qualifying legs will be rewarded with a Grand Final outside Asia. This 20th anniversary of PAM is also more rewarding, with all four Par 3s offering prizes, a first for PAM.”

Ever since PAM started 20 years ago, nearly 50,000 golfers have experienced the pleasure of playing PAM’s unique format that offers great yet exciting challenges. The Strokeplay format is maintained, with the overall Gross and Net winners qualifying from each round to the grand finals. Two Gross and two Net winners from the National Final will also advance to Muscat, Oman. A unique “live” scoring system will also be implemented for the first time at qualifying rounds. This system utilises the internet to enable results to be generated within minutes after the round is completed.
The National Final and Grand Final of PAM 2017 will have its highlights broadcasted on two channels, namely Astro Arena and Astro SuperSport 3 HD.
