sooka launches teen love story “Kau vs Aku” based on hit Wattpad web novel and features PUBG MOBILE
Kuala Lumpur, 12 August 2022 – Fresh off the successful launch of its second Originals series, Hantu Raya Pergi Perang, sooka continues its commitment in producing hyper-local content by introducing the new series Kau vs Aku with Wattpad WEBTOON Studios, the fan-driven global entertainment and publishing arm for WEBTOON and Wattpad. From the popular Wattpad web novel of the same name from author Nurul Husnina Binti Mockthar (@Shieyruna), the third sooka Originals series also features a PUBG MOBILE integration in its love story plot and will be available for viewing on sooka starting 19 August 2022.

Collaboration with Wattpad and PUBG MOBILE
The Kau vs Aku Originals series also marks a new milestone for sooka in the form of a partnership with Wattpad that resonates strongly with younger Malaysians. The original Wattpad web novel has over 2 million reads and won the Wattys 2017 competition, an award which recognises the platform’s best stories. The new production will allow Wattpad WEBTOON Studios to continue to connect with Wattpad’s massive local community of more than 1.4 million people in Malaysia. PUBG MOBILE, which requires no further introduction, is a popular battle royale mobile game featured as the driving factor of a budding romance between two sub Kau vs Aku characters.
Introducing sooka’s First Wattpad Adaptation
Kau vs Aku is directed by a group of esteemed directors, namely Shamyl Othman (director of Ex Aku Pontianak and Gantung), Megat Sharizal (director of Jibril)and Siti Afizah (director of Sa-balik Baju) and features an ensemble cast of up-and-rising stars such as Dini Schatzmann, Shasha Abedul, Mia Sara Shauki, Chubb-E and Atikah Suhaime. The plot tells the teenage love story of a 16-year-old aspiring writer whose life is turned upside-down when the Instagram-famous boy whom she trolls online moves to her school.

Another exciting aspect of Kau vs Aku is the integration with PUBG MOBILE, the popular competitive survival shooter mobile game. PUBG MOBILE is weaved into the series as the driving factor of a budding romance between two sub Kau vs Aku characters, played onscreen by Chubb-E and Mia Sara Shauki.
