Yayasan Astro Kasih Awards 13 Scholarships to Underprivileged Students

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 February 2025 – As part of Astro's three-year ESG goals, Yayasan Astro Kasih (YAK) has awarded 13 scholarships to bright and deserving individuals from the B40 group with has the skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes needed to become future leaders. At Astro, we believe that accessible and quality education is the foundation for building a thriving society, and we are proud to contribute to this cause.

The Scholarship Awards Ceremony was recently held at Astro's Bukit Jalil office to officially recognise and celebrate the scholarship recipients for October 2024. Themed "Start With A Dream, Finish With A Future," the ceremony was attended by YAK Chairman Tun Dato' Seri Zaki Bin Tun Azmi, Astro Group Chief Executive Officer Euan Smith, Astro Group Chief Financial Officer Dr. Grace Lee Hwee Ling, as well as the celebrated scholars and their guardians.

The ceremony provided scholars and their guardians with insights into Astro as a business and offered networking and engagement opportunities with their future employer. The event was followed by a Career Engagement Session in the evening with scholars who were awarded the scholarship back in 2023. During this session, HR representatives and Astro Scholar Alumni shared information about career opportunities and their personal journeys, highlighting how the scholarship has helped kick-start their professional development post-graduation.

Astro is committed to continuing the scholarship program this year. Interested students are invited to apply for the next cycle of scholarships between June and August 2025 by referring to Astro's corporate website.
