Astro thanks Malaysians for the recognition of its entertainment ecosystem and content appeal

Kuala Lumpur, 24 January 2026 - Astro is honoured to celebrate a strong showing across two of Malaysia’s most respected brand award platforms —the Putra Aria Brand Awards 2025 and the Putra Brand Awards 2025 — reflecting Malaysians’ continued trust in Astro’s role as a brand that informs, entertains, educates and inspires the nation.
On Friday, 23 January 2026, Astro celebrated a strong showing at the Putra Brand Awards, securing three awards in the Media & Networks category — with Astro receiving Platinum, ERA winning Gold, and HITZ earning Bronze. These wins reflect Malaysians’ trust in Astro’s evolving content ecosystem, spanning TV, radio, digital, streaming and on-ground experiences, and the brand’s continued role in shaping local entertainment, culture and creativity.

Earlier, at the Putra Aria Brand Awards held on Thursday, 22January 2026, Astro Fibre was awarded Gold in the Communication Networks category, recognising its commitment to delivering reliable, seamless and safe connectivity to Malaysian homes. In the same ceremony, MY FM earned Bronze under Media & Networks, reaffirming its strong resonance with Chinese-speaking audiences through relatable personalities, trusted content and cultural relevance.
The Putra Brand Awards and Putra Aria Brand Awards, organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) and endorsed by MATRADE as the Brand Champion Partner, stand as Malaysia’s leading consumer voted accolades celebrating brand excellence. Recognised as the country’s gold standard, the awards honour brands that have earned the trust and admiration of Malaysian consumers, from local startups to global giants. Winners are determined through a nationwide consumer study conducted by Ipsos Malaysia, drawing insights from more than 50,000 responses across 24 categories.

Across both award nights, Astro’s recognition reinforces its purpose of uplifting Malaysian stories, talents and businesses. Over nearly 30years, Astro has evolved from a traditional broadcaster into a modern, inclusive content ecosystem that champions local productions, nurtures creative talent, supports SMEs through cross-platform exposure, and makes entertainment accessible for all Malaysians through Astro GO, sooka, NJOI, radio and digital touchpoints.
“We are deeply humbled by this recognition from Malaysians," said Tai Kam Leong, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. “Astro’s purpose has always been clear: to serve every Malaysian household with content that resonates, to elevate local stories and talents, and to support communities and businesses across the country. These awards reflect the relationship we’ve built with Malaysians nearly 30 years, and we remain committed to celebrating the nation’s stories and moments together.”

As a gesture of appreciation for Malaysians’ continued support, all Astro customers will enjoy complimentary access to 11 curated channels from 26 January to 4 February 2026. This includes selections across News & Documentaries (BBC Earth, CGTN Documentary, History), Variety (HITSNOW, BBC Lifestyle, Crime + Investigation) and Kids content (Moonbug, Blippi & Friends, CBeebies, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr.).
Astro is also extending a thank-you gesture to advertisers: from now until February 2026, all advertisers who book 35 ad placements on ERA, HITZ or MY FM will be entitled to receive an additional 35 complimentary placements*. This initiative reflects Astro’s appreciation for advertisers’ continued support and reinforces its commitment to helping Malaysian businesses grow through high-reach, meaningful and high-impact media platforms.

Astro remains dedicated to delivering trusted content, progressing Malaysian stories, empowering local talents and businesses, and growing alongside the communities it serves.
