The event also offered an early preview of sooka Shorts, the platform’s new microdrama feature launching this December
KUALA LUMPUR, 29 November 2025 - sooka, Malaysia’s leading streaming service, concluded the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge where 273 participants gathered for a full day of entertainment and competitive challenges all while streaming sooka LIVE. The event not only achieved recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for having the Most Participants in a Streaming Multitasking Challenge but also marked a major content milestone with the introduction of sooka Shorts, a new microdrama feature launching this December.

The record-breaking turnout reflected the core purpose of the sooka Gilerrr Streaming Challenge, which was to celebrate Malaysians’ bold, enthusiastic and sometimes “gilerrr” passion for entertainment and sports. This was the first time sooka hosted an event of this scale, and the overwhelming response demonstrated just how strongly the brand connects with its audiences. The event underscored how streaming on sooka has become a shared obsession for many, and the challenges gave fans a fun and competitive platform to show just how far they would go to keep streaming their favourite content.
Adding to the day’s momentum were sooka brand ambassadors Evertts Gomes, Aiman Ameer, Wani Kayrie and Kimberly Chuah, who spent time engaging with fans. The programme also featured performances by Dewi Remaja finalists, Jaguh Rakan Muda contestants, the Top 12 from Astro Star Quest, cast members from Astro Originals and sooka Shorts, as well as artists including Uriah See, ALPHA, Qasrina Karim, Mierul Aiman and Khai Bahar.
While the audience was kept entertained, participants continued their streams as they moved through a series of physical challenges designed to test their focus and stamina. The challenge opened with “sooka says”, where contestants followed fast-paced instructions without looking away from their screens. They then faced the “pontianak” distraction round, complete with feather tickles, jokes and jump scares, followed by a freeze challenge that required them to hold specific poses while still streaming. The final test pushed coordination and balance as participants attempted to keep a can of drink steady on their hand without interrupting their viewing.
The challenge wrapped up with the prize presentation, where the grand prize winner walked away with a Proton e.MAS 5. Other top performers who completed every stage of the challenge also received rewards, including a Samsung 85-inch QLED Smart TV, an iPhone 17 Pro Max, a MacBook Air, a Samsung gaming monitor, a PlayStation 5 Pro, a DJI Pocket 3 Creator Combo, a Dyson hair dryer, Sony headphone and a JD gift card worth RM1,000.
